Wyler & Felicia’s Wedding at Arrow Park in Monroe, NY:
A Gorgeous Hudson Valley Wedding Venue

Arrow Park in Monroe, New York is a unique park-turned-summer camp. I’ve photographed Arrow Park weddings for years, and am finally getting around to posting Wyler and Felicia’s wedding at this Orange County venue!

When this couple reached out to me, they stated that they wanted to enjoy the party, and wanted cool—not sappy—wedding photos. Some couples want to spend 3 hours just on creative portraits with me, while others really want very few photos of them, preferring I capture plenty of candids throughout the day.

There’s no right answer, and since every couple is different, your wish is my command!

Non-sappy, fun, candid photos it was. And make sure you get a peek at Felicia’s tie-dye Vans she wore all day under that dress. Nothing like comfort for your wedding, right?!

About Arrow Park

Arrow Park in Monroe, NY, was acquired in 1948 by a group of working-class Slavic families based in the Metropolitan NYC area. Together, they wanted to give their families the opportunity to experience the country, living in nature, swimming in the lake, and more. So, pooling together their money, that’s exactly what they did.

The Arrow Park mansion already existed when they purchased the property. While the property has an old summer-camp feel, the mansion is quite different. It’s a 1909 Italianate Mansion, meaning it features symmetry, round-arched windows, and hidden decorative details.

When inside the mansion, you’ll feel in a bit of a different world. The rounded entryways, ornately decorated interior, and staircases into old-style-lit rooms definitely transports you to…well, not what you’d picture in Upstate New York!

Arrow Park Weddings

I do love photographing Arrow Park weddings because of all the unique ceremony areas, immense space, flexibility, and diverse settings. No two Arrow Park weddings are alike, which means my creative wedding photography is perfect for the ever-changing environment! In fact, I have had it on my 14 Unique Hudson Valley Wedding Venues list for years.

The long, tree-lined drive in is one of the highlights for any celebration here, and I always make the time to get a golf cart to drive us up here for stunning portraits before sunset.

Want photos in the woods at night? Check. Want romantic shots of you going up an old-school staircase? Check. Want outdoor games in a courtyard, or indoor/outdoor bars at your wedding? They’ve got it. Plus, Kelsey, the manager at Arrow Park, is a delight to work with.

On-site housing is available for around 20 people, including large rooms with private sitting rooms, lake views, delicate glass windows opening directly outside, and more.

A Summery Upstate New York Wedding

Felicia and Wyler opted to start their Arrow Park wedding at the mansion for their first look. Afterwards, we went down by the lakeside, where there was just a hint of fall coming with the yellow-green leaves.

They fooled around and took quite a few silly photos (which I’ll spare you with, for the most part), and then it was time for group portraits and their ceremony.

Wedding Ceremonies at Arrow Park

Most Arrow Park weddings take place in the garden—though you can also have it by the lake, on the sand, tented by the water’s edge, right in the woods, or by the more woodsy lakeside.

Felicia and Wyler opted to have their ceremony in the Ceremonial Garden. They also specifically asked me to capture their first kiss from behind them, to grab the audience and the moment.

What do you think—photos of the first kiss behind the couple, or the traditional angle from the audience’s POV?

The Nighttime Wedding Reception at Arrow Park

Most receptions (introductions, cake cutting, toasts, and dancing) occur in the Banquet Hall, a modest and old-fashioned room for partying. This is what F&W did, along with music from my favorite, super-nice DJ in the Hudson Valley: Nick Ruggiero from A Perfect Blent Entertainment. He kept the party going all night long! Cute desserts put out by Peppercorn Events satisfied everyone’s sweet tooth (teeth?).

Of course, we snuck out for some evening shots at my favorite tree-lined spot, as I mentioned earlier, and then these two wanted to dance the night away. Congrats, Felicia and Wyler~
