Elissa & Stephan

Hans Lollik, U.s. virgin islands

Adventure weddings are my jam, so when Elissa and Stephan asked if I'd shoot their helicopter wedding, I needed -2.61 seconds to reply yes. I love shooting helicopter weddings, and Maria at Caribbean Buzz glides through the air so seemlessly, it's like you're floating. Well, after documenting Elissa getting ready and heading to the air strip, we took off on several trips (there was family along for the ride) to Hans Lollik, a beautiful little island off the north shore. In fact, we flew over Magen's Bay, where my friends were waving up at us all! The lovely, tear-jerking ceremony was accompanied by hand-made touches: Elissa and her mother had made bits of the dress, her sand shoes, cake decorations, and much more. After the picnic, we enjoyed photos on the island before some more sunset photos at Brewer's Beach. A total lunar eclipse--the sunset on one side and the eclipse on the other as we were flying back to the base--made the whole day seem like a dream.
