Neelam & Saurabhji

Bhinmal, Rajasthan, India

I'll be upfront: I did not shoot this wedding in the past few months, or even in the past year. When I was living in India a few years back, I got the opportunity to photograph quite a few weddings, but this one stood out. It was the wedding of my friend Rajesh's cousin's daughter, and I (along with 39 of their family members) traveled 3 days from southern India up to a fairly remote part of Rajasthan, but bus, car, train, motorcycle, and tuk-tuk, all for this incredible 3-day ceremony. The food, the people, and the culture was unforgettable, and it still remains the most amazing Indian wedding I've ever attended or photographed. From the camels and mother-and-daughter portraits to monkey bites, fortune tellers, marital fights, and Mickey Mouse costumes (no, I'm not kidding...just go with it), this incredible event will forever remain a most amazing experience.
