Connecticut Wedding Photographer | La Bella Vista Waterbury CT | CT Wedding Venue
One of my dear friends had her wedding at La Bella Vista, Waterbury, CT, and I was honored to
be her photographer for this beautiful day!

Not My Typical CT Wedding–This One was Extra Special
Photographing Heather and Alex’s La Bella Vista wedding in Waterbury, Connecticut was a special one, because I’ve known Heather for nearly 20 years. Despite a bit of age difference (and the fact that I still think she’s 20!), we took a couple college classes together when attending music school in Upstate New York.
As you can imagine, I was honored when she asked me to be the photographer for both her engagement and wedding photos near their Connecticut home. And after dating Alex for a decade, they were more than ready to get married!
Heather’s parents helped her pick out La Bella Vista, a Connecticut wedding venue that’s a traditional old-school Italian wedding venue with in-house catering–and lots of it. The food never stopped coming, and Heather–who read the menu in detail to me over the phone before asking me to be her photographer–knew I would like this quite a bit.

La Bella Vista, Waterbury CT – An Italian Wedding Venue in Connecticut
La Bella Vista is located in Waterbury, Connecticut. Though not known for all that much, this venue is in the town of Waterbury, not city, set back from a little country road. It has a small courtyard for wedding ceremonies, a pergola, a long tree-lined walkway, a field, a gazebo and pond, and a traditional old-world Italian interior with columns and massive chandeliers.
One thing that Heather and Alex wanted to prioritize was night shots with fun, creative lighting. As a creative wedding photographer, they knew this was my cup of tea! I had fun catching some traditional and non-traditional shots of them while my second shooter held the lighting.

The wedding day was largely a family affair, and it went quite smoothly! We even had time to get portraits in the lovely row of trees that greet guests as they come in. Plus, it’s always nice to get away from the crowds of people eager to greet you, and just have a quiet walk outside in the beautiful weather.
For a summer afternoon, we truly lucked out. My wedding the very next day was a whopping 92 degrees with 95% humidity!

Getting the Connecticut Party Started
Once everyone entered the ballroom and oohed and ahhhed over their blue, musical wedding cake, it was time for the party to start. After the traditional first dance, mother-son dance, and father-daughter dance, Heather and her bridesmaids surprised the groom with a custom song, and then Alex and some of his friends performed a piece on the live band’s sound system.
After that, there was dancing, gelato stations, dessert crepes, wedding cake, a make-your-own-sundae bar, cannoli, and more.
Also, check out Heather’s shoes for the day!!

We ended Alex & Heather’s La Bella Vista wedding day with night shots out in a dark part of the parking lot. Congratulations to my dear friend and her now-husband, and thank you for putting up with my quirky photo requests! ~
