Westchester couple kisses in a smoke grenade by creative Hudson Valley wedding photographer Kathryn Cooper in New York

Wedding season has come to an end, but that doesn't mean my desire to shoot creative photos—or my clients' desires to have them—have diminished in the least. In fact, I just came up with five new tools (including one unique invention using an everyday object) to help make unique wedding photo opportunities, and I've written up a list of 26 ideas (so far) that I want to try in the new year.

Also, kittens. I still want to photograph a wedding with kittens! Pretty please?

So, for this photoshoot of Sophia and Michael, I brought out an old favorite: a smoke bomb. It worked perfectly on the winter day, and there were still some leaves on the trees. A gorgeous couture dress, bold flowers, and a flower crown didn't hurt either (photos below).
